Themistake was mine
Because, I wanted to be a successful lover in your
Heart Kingdom —
I was looking for a heart –
that understands love. That seeks love.

Yet what keeps love alive,
or what it depends on,
I was utterly unable
to understand.
The mistake was mine.

ব্যর্থতাটা আমার

ব্যর্থতা আমারই
কেননা আমি হতে চেয়েছিলাম
প্রেমিক হৃদয়ের একজন–
যে হৃদয় প্রেম বুঝে, প্রেম খুঁজে।
অথচ প্রেম টিকে থাকে কিসে
বা কোন ভরসায় –
তা বুঝে উঠতে বড়ই অক্ষম ছিলাম আমি।

You are the rosebud of my love
that blooms through pain.
You fill my heart
and make my incompleteness complete.

When in the room of my mind
sorrows come knocking,
then you lay out
a seat of gentle happiness.

With the red hue of affection
you color me bright,
and I, intoxicated with victory,
run without limits.

তুমি আমার ভালোবাসার
কষ্টে ফোটা গোলাপ কুড়িঁ।
দাও ভরিয়ে হৃদয় আমার-
অপূর্ণতায় পূর্ণ করি।

যখন আমার মনের ঘরে-
দুঃখরা দেয় হানা।
তখন তুমি সুখ বিলাসের
পাতো আসন খানা।

লাল সোহাগের রং মাখিয়ে
আমায় কর রঙিন।
আমি তখন জয়ের নেশায়
ছুটি সীমাহীন।
