Poem –
In comparison to you – Ashish Kumer Banik

That day you asked me –
to know the name of my favorite flower.
I said without hesitation –
Chapa. Chapa is my favorite flower.
I thought – why is it favorite. Surely you will want to know.
I will compare you quite beautifully to Chapa.
“Like the sweet scent of Chapa,
your body is fragrant –
makes me very intoxicated.
Like the sweet color of Chapa,
your timid and arrogant mind –
silently draws me closer.
My favorite flower blooms on the petals of Chapa –
the gentle smile of your lips.”
I gather.
I gather all this as I wish.
And, I inspire myself with the constant motivation to live.
But you – did not want to know anything about it.
You changed the subject and said – “Let’s go today.”
I stood up and thought to myself –
“Oh! What a big mistake I’ve made.”

কবিতা
তুলনায় তুমি -আশীষ কুমার বণিক

তুমি সেদিন আমার কাছে –
আমার প্রিয় ফুলের নাম জানতে চাইলে ।
আমি নির্দ্বিধায় বলে দিলুম –
চাঁপা। চাঁপা আমার প্রিয় ফুল।
ভাবলাম – কেন প্রিয়।
নিশ্চয়ই তুমি তা জানতে চাইবে।
আমি বেশ চমৎকার করে
চাঁপার সাথে তোমার তুলনা দেব।
“ চাঁপার সুমিষ্ট ঘ্রাণের মতো –
তোমার অঙ্গ সুরভী –
আমাকে ভীষণ মাতাল করে।
চাঁপার মিষ্টি রং এর মতো
তোমার ভীরু অভিমানী মন –
আমাকে নীরবে কাছে টানে।
আমার প্রিয় ফুল চাঁপার পাপঁড়িতে ফোটে –
তোমার অধরের মৃদু হাসি।”
আমি কুড়োই।
আমি ইচ্ছেমতো কুড়োই এ’সব।
আর, বেঁচে থাকার নিত্য প্রেরণায়
উজ্জীবিত করি নিজেকে।
অথচ তুমি – তার কিছুই জানতে চাইলে না।
সঙ্গোপনে প্রসঙ্গ ফিরিয়ে বললে – “ আজ চলি ”।
অগত্যা আমি দাঁড়িয়ে, মনে মনে ভাবলাম –
“ আহা ! কি মহা ভুলটাই না করেছি।”
